They also were awarded the MTV Video Vanguard Award for their long history of memorable music videos. The three “moon men” awards were presented to the Beastie Boys by rap legend Chuck D. After Mike D thanked those who had worked on the videos, Adam Yauch took the opportunity to speak his mind on a couple of things saying: “I think it was a real mistake that the US chose to fire missiles into the Middle East. I think that was huge mistake and I think that it is very important that the United States start to look towards non-violent as means to resolving conflicts…” |
