Among other things the Beastie Boys were about the Luscious Jackson album which was released on the Grand Royal Records. Mike D explained that the ladies of Luscious Jackson were old friends, who had a demo tape that they listened to and liked. Instead of passing that demo onto another label’s A&R people, the Beastie Boys decided to put it out on the Grand Royal Records label. Mike D also commented on the fact that Hurricane’s full length album, The Hurra, will be the next Grand Royal Records release. |
