Date: 1994 Show: Public Broadcasting: History of Rock and Roll The Perfect Beat Country: United States City: Los Angeles, CA Promoting: No Promotional Intent Language: English Features: MCA, Mike D, AdRock Notes: Back in 1994, Public Broadcasting stations across the United States aired a week long series entitled “The History of Rock and Roll.” Each hour long episode featured a different movement within the larger realm of rock and roll. During the Perfect Beat, the show that focused in on hip hop and rap, the Beastie Boys reflected back upon their wild Licensed to Ill days and how politicians had succeeded in getting albums labeled with the “parental advisory” stickers. The nice thing about the show was that it also featured comments from Def Jam’s co-founders Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons. The interview footage was likely recorded in Los Angeles, CA back in 1994. |
