Interest in the Beastie Boys and sales of their album Licensed to Ill were just beginning to heat up, so at the time it made sense to put the group on MTV "out in the snow" during one of New York’s winter storms. MTV had taken notice of the Beastie Boys in a major way at this point. Thus during the advertisements, MTV was already running their Beastie Boys spring break "Body Snatchers Contest". |
