"You listen to it, and you know it's going to fuck people up, because it's crazy, but I'm into it because it fucked me up." - Adam Horovitz, July 1994
"Here's another song that came out of a jam. It's kind of dark in a way but it's got a groove to it. There was a guy named Eugene who hung around the Boys and coincidentally, I went to school with at U.S.C., and he played violin. He wasn't there while we were jamming, but one of the Boys suggested adding him in on the violin. Like I said, the song is dark and eerie, so when he played the violin the way he did, it fit the song perfectly. We never played this song live." - Eric Bobo, March 2003
"[Eugene's Lament] was just a one-minute jam on the DAT, then we repeated a couple of sections of it and had Eugene Gore overdub violins. The rest of the music was straight to DAT. That's why it sounds kind of screwed up, but it came out nice." - Mario Caldato, 1994
