Beastie Boys Passes Gallery

Notes: This pass actually was stamped "Beastie Boys" to be worn by a band member. However, it could have just as easily been stamped "working" or "VIP". It is one of the more generic multi-use passes from the 1992 Check Your Head Tour.

Notes: 1992 Beastie Boys Check Your Head Local Crew pass
These passes were created to be used either by photographers (noted at the top) or by stage/security crew members that were hired locally.
Usually when you see this style pass the top has been scribbled out with a black sharpie marker and then dated. This means that it was not used as by photographer.
When the Beastie Boys road crew rolls into your city, they usually employ a group of local venue security guys as well as local stage hands to help set up the production.

Notes: This laminate pass is different from the more common sticker backed fabric patches that are used on some tours for VIPs. A VIP (very important person) can be anyone from an old friend to a family or band member. For example, this pass would more than likely have been the type worn by Ione Skye if she had attended one of Adam Horovitz's concerts in 1992.

Notes: In the case of this Japanese Club, they provide the performing artists with their own sticker backed logo passes. This concert, along with most of the other 1992 Japanese club tour gigs, was recorded by Space Shower TV and broadcast as part of the 100000% BEASTIE TV special in 1992.

Notes: Although the band was given venue specific passes while in Japan playing the Club Citta venues, they also had these passes made for the band members to wear at other stops on the tour.
This laminate pass uses the traditional HAZE lettering from the cover of Check Your Head as well as the cover photo taken by Glen Friedman.

Notes: If you were not familiar with the slogan "Fat Shit in '92" (which was also used on a t-shirt) you may not recognize this pass as even having been an "all access" for the Beastie Boys.
If you look more closely, you can see that Al Bundy (from the infamous Married with Children FOX TV show) has the words "Beastie Boys" on his shirt pocket.

Notes: 1992 provided us with some of the most interesting and different looking tour passes. This one is no exception. The image on this generic pass would have perhaps worked better on a laminate.
Here one can see that the fabric (sticker backed) pass somewhat compromises the integrity of the image. In other words, it is too cool to not be a laminate.

Notes: This laminate tour pass grants all access to the wearer. The image on the pass is one that Glen Friedman took during the same photo session that the cover photo of Check Your Head was taken.
