Among hardcore Beastie Boys fans, this show is considered legendary. Because of a snafu by a publicist promoting the show, Beastie Boys' fans were alerted to the show's on-sale date and time before any media or other performing artists' fans were notified about the show. Members from the Beastie Boys Message Board snapped up ALL of the tickets before anyone else was even aware of the show. When Beastie Boys took the stage, the audience was absolutely wild. Every single person in the Hiro Ballroom knew every single word of every single Beastie Boys' song, which made for an electric concert environment.
