New York Post (7 June 1985) - Lisa Robinson:
The big news this weekend is still, of course, Madonna. Opening for her are The Beastie Boys, whose DJ Double R says, "Our goal is to combine the rhythms of rap with the heavy guitar sound of AC/DC."
The Beastie Boys include Mike D., MCA and The King Ad-Rock, and they've been opening the entire sellout tour for Madonna, which ends with the Garden show Tuesday night.
The Beastie Boys are one of the few white rap groups. They met Madonna a few years ago when they were all part of the New York club scene.
Madonna has sold out Radio City Music Hall tonight and tomorrow, with the Garden to follow Monday and Tuesday nights.
