Merchandise Archive

Within the (admittedly poorly named) Merch section we hope to create a database of everything that has been ever been sold or given away by the Beastie Boys or their affiliated endeavors. If you'll collect it, we'll archive it. We hope to give the Merch section a depth equal to our Discography or Gigography so please contact us if we're missing something (which we know we are).

Title: Rush Production Press Release
Year: 1986
Section: Press Kits + Promo Photos
Dimensions:
Notes: Press Release sent out by Rush Productions on the 6th of January, 1986.
Contains entertaining snippets including:
  • The relationship between the Beastie Boys and Columbia Records with the band being the "only act on the corporate giant's huge roster banished from the premises".
  • A similar result in the social pages where the police were called after the band got "carried away" with the volume at a charitable Christmas event.
  • A number of awards the band has won in recent times
The final line states to call George Drakoulias (of "Stop That Train" fame) for more information.

Title: Vision Licensed to Ill Skate Deck (Test Pressing)
Year: 1986
Section: Promo
Dimensions:
Notes: There is little known about this rarest of Beastie Boys skateboards, but rumor has it this was the black-and-white test pressing the Beastie Boys approved prior to the colored version. Supposedly, there was only five or so of the colored versions.

You can see the Beastie Boys holding a colored version on the back page of the Licensed to Ill Tour Book and in the live video clip for "She's Crafty."
