Unknown Detroit Newspaper, March 1987:
Outraged reviews of the Beastie Boys concert last weekend continue to roll in. A 33-year-old mother of a 12-year -old boy called here to complain that band members were shaking cans of beer and pouring them on female fans' chests. "It was frightening, not just because of what was going on onstage, but what was going on in the audience. I went to a lot of rock shows, and we were rowdy, loud and obnoxious, but not deliberately out to hurt people."

Said Michael Tinik, vice-president of operations for Brass Ring Productions: "I understand one got carried away and did take her top off. I didn't see it myself, so I don't know if she was wearing underwear or not...but it wasn't planned. It was the spontaneous reaction of a paying customer."
